Web to Phone Services

Web to Phone provides a browser-based business messaging application for sending, receiving, and managing customer text-message conversations.

There is no software to download or install. Once a business has been provisioned, authorized users can visit the website, sign in, and access the application through a standard web browser.

Business Account Provisioning

Web to Phone is not a public self-service platform. Business accounts are created and configured by the administrator.

To begin the provisioning process, the business provides information including:

  • Contact name
  • Business name
  • Email address
  • Business contact phone number
  • Street address
  • City
  • State
  • ZIP code

Web to Phone handles the technical messaging setup, including Twilio credentials, messaging configuration, and the assigned Twilio phone number.

The business does not need to create, store, or manage Twilio credentials. Once provisioning is complete, an authorized user can sign in and begin using the application.

Browser-Based Messaging

Authorized business users can send and receive text messages and images directly through the Web to Phone application.

Send and Receive Messages

Business users can send outgoing messages and review incoming customer replies through one browser-based workspace.

Send and Receive Images

The application supports image messaging as well as standard text-message conversations.

Review Message Threads

Incoming and outgoing messages are organized into conversation threads so the business can review the full exchange.

Use Any Modern Browser

No desktop installation is required. Authorized users access the system through a standard web browser.

Multiple-Customer Conversation Management

The messaging screen allows the user to work with several customer conversations from one interface.

A caller list appears beside the current conversation thread and the Send Message panel. When the user selects a caller, the application immediately displays the corresponding conversation and updates the destination phone number.

This allows the business user to move quickly between customers while keeping each outgoing message associated with the correct conversation.

Customer Record Management

Each business can create and maintain its own customer directory.

Customer records may include:

  • Phone number
  • Name
  • Email address
  • Street address
  • City
  • State
  • ZIP code

Authorized users can add customers, search the customer database, update existing records, and delete records when necessary.

When a saved customer sends a message, Web to Phone can display the customer's name rather than showing only the incoming phone number.

Message History

Web to Phone can retrieve recent messaging activity and refresh the application's message history.

Available time periods include:

  • Today
  • Previous 2 days
  • Previous 5 days
  • Previous 10 days
  • Previous 20 days
  • Previous 30 days

These options allow the business to control how much recent message history is loaded into the application.

A Dedicated Environment for Each Business

Web to Phone uses a single-business, multiple-instance architecture.

Each provisioned business receives its own dedicated:

  • Application instance
  • Server environment
  • SQLite database
  • Twilio phone number
  • Messaging configuration
  • Business user accounts

This design keeps each business's customers, messages, and application environment separate.

It also allows one installation to be updated, restarted, maintained, or customized without interrupting another business.

Messaging Configuration

Web to Phone manages the technical setup for each business, including:

  • Twilio integration
  • Twilio phone-number configuration
  • Messaging-service configuration
  • Application credentials
  • Webhooks and message routing
  • Required business and messaging campaign configuration

The business supplies the necessary registration information, while Web to Phone handles the technical implementation.

Getting Started

A business interested in using Web to Phone must contact the administrator and complete the provisioning process.

After the account, Twilio number, and messaging configuration have been prepared, authorized users can access the application through the Business Sign In page.
